Candy Shorts review: our honest take after the whole catalog
This Candy Shorts review comes down to one line: the free part is generous, and the paid part adds up faster than you'd think. We counted every series on Candy on October 28, all 190 of them, and went through the free openers of the open ones. So think of this as the blunt, forum-style answer, just with numbers attached. Then come the details: what works, what bugs us, who should bother, and our verdict. Short version? Start free, pay later, maybe.
Free: no account needed for episode 1; sign up for free and episode 2 unlocks too.
Counted on October 28, 2026: every number here comes from our own pass through the whole Candy catalog.
What works
The free openings, first of all. You can start any open series without even registering. Make a free account and, in almost every series, episode 2 opens too. That's 347 free episodes across 173 series, each about a minute long. Two of them tell you whether a story is going anywhere, and you haven't paid a thing.
The subtitles surprised us. Of the 173 open series, 171 list subtitle tracks in six languages, and 77 add Japanese on top. The dialogue itself is English, so for a viewer in Lyon or Munich those tracks are the difference between following the plot and guessing at it.
Short series help too. Most run five episodes (161 of them), so finishing one is a coffee break, not an evening. And if you're a fan of Riley Reid, Mia Malkova or the other four creators with series, their licensed AI twins give you something no generic character can: a likeness you already know, used with permission.
What bugs us
Tokens, mostly. From episode 3 on, a paid episode needs Premium and tokens, both at once. Most series charge 12 tokens an episode, the creator series 30. The 100 tokens Premium includes each month finish exactly one five-episode creator series (three paid episodes at 30), with 10 left over.
Scale that up and it gets silly. Finishing every open series costs 8,322 tokens. At 100 included tokens a month, that's almost seven years of allowance, so anyone who binges ends up buying token packs, which are sold to subscribers.
The explicit material is Premium-only too. That would be fine if you could test a Spicy series first, but on a free account the Spicy shelf stays locked. You pay, then you find out.
And Premium renews on its own. Monthly Premium starts at $9.99, then jumps to $13.99 from the second month, and your statement will say EverAI, not Candy. You can cancel the renewal anytime. Just don't forget.
Who should try it
Anyone who enjoys the setup more than the payoff. The free episodes are all tension and flirting, and with 347 of them, you can spend hours on Candy without paying.
Viewers who'd rather not watch in English. Six subtitle languages on almost every open series is genuinely useful, and the Japanese track on 77 series is a bonus most people won't expect. Candy's account settings have a language option too, though we can't promise what it switches.
Fans of the six creators with series, from Riley Reid to Asa Akira, as long as you go in knowing it's a licensed AI twin and not the woman herself.
Who should skip it: people hoping for explicit scenes for free, because there aren't any, and people who binge whole series in one sitting. At 12 or 30 tokens a paid episode, bingeing is the expensive way to use Candy. Same for anyone who hates subscriptions that renew themselves.
Our verdict
If you only read one part of this Candy AI Shorts review, make it this one. Candy Shorts is worth a month, not a year, unless you already know you'll be watching every week.
Here's how we'd do it. Watch the opening episode of anything that looks promising, no account needed. Sign up free and watch episode 2 of the ones that stuck. If a couple of series leave you wanting the rest, take one month of Premium at $9.99. The 100 tokens that come with it cover one creator series or two regular five-episode ones.
Only move to the quarterly plan ($26.97 every three months) or the yearly one ($47.88 paid in one go) once you're sure you'll be back. Cancel the renewal the day you decide you're done. After that, the free episodes are still yours to watch.
Questions people ask
Is Candy Shorts worth it?
For a month, yes, if the free episodes already hooked you on a couple of series. Every paid episode needs Premium and tokens, so paying only makes sense once you know which stories you want to finish. If nothing grabbed you in the free openers, keep your money. Paying won't change the format.
Candy Shorts: legit or scam?
Legit. It's part of Candy, and the charge is listed as EverAI (EverAI Limited, Malta). The thing to watch is renewal: Premium renews automatically until you cancel it, which you can do anytime, and local taxes may apply. The scams are fake leak pages that demand a download, a questionnaire or your card number before showing anything.
How explicit does Candy Shorts get?
It depends on what you unlock. Free episodes stay suggestive, with setup, flirting and a cutaway where you'd expect more. You'll find the explicit scenes in the Spicy series, Premium from the very first episode, and in the open series once you're past the free episodes, where you need Premium plus tokens. All of it is AI-generated.
Can I watch Candy Shorts if I don't speak English?
Yes, for the most part. The dialogue is English, but subtitles cover six languages, French and German among them, on 171 open series out of 173, and 77 of those add Japanese. Two have none. We couldn't check the Spicy series, so test your language on an open series before paying for anything.
